Living in Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is a high-density waterfront district on the southern edge of the city, built by Emaar from 2003 around a man-made canal roughly 3km long, cut inland from the Gulf shoreline. It sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and the sea, with Jumeirah Beach Residence on its seaward side. Housing is almost entirely apartments, from studios of about 450 sqft to penthouses, with a handful of podium villas. It suits professionals, couples, sharers and investors who want a walkable, serviced address near the beach rather than a garden and a quiet street.
